Duncan Ende races in the Pirelli World Challenge series. His racing machine is a GT3-spec Ferrari 458. Today, we’re tossing him into something with a bit less power... but something that might be nearly as fun to drive; the new Mazda MX-5 Cup Car.
If you look at racing vehicles and try to figure out which make and model as the most wins under its belt, you’d probably find Porsche and Mazda duking it out at any given moment. That’s because both automakers place their vehicles in all manner of racing across the entire globe.
Still, it’s Mazda that truly supports racing at the most grassroots of levels. The brand offers many types of racing scholarships, and it’s seen some of the greatest drivers rise through its own ranks. All of that motorsports history is now centered around the MX-5... and our man Duncan Ende gets a few laps in the latest iteration of the Mazda cup car.
If you want to buy your own, it will cost you $53,000. That’s probably what Duncan normally spends on tires for his Ferrari...
